April 2026 Updates

Happy spring to everyone!

We had a quiet winter around Branching Path Farm, ample time to rest and plan for the year ahead. 2026 is our seventh (!) spring on this land, and tenth farming overall, which is mind-blowing in so many ways.

This year will look pretty similar for most customers: we will be growing a similar mix of crops as past years, and offering a similar selection of garden seedlings (list to be posted on our website next week).

For Saturday April 11, we will have the first crops of the year! Overwintered spinach from the field; from one greenhouse overwintered kale, green onions, a little bit of parsley and cilantro; and from our heated greenhouse (where we grow the seedlings) early arugula, salad mixes, and pea shoots. We also have a few storage cabbages left from last fall.

We will have the first seedlings (cold hardy crops) available for sale in late April, and then typical summer crops (like tomatoes and basil) starting in May.

Hamilton Customers: we will be back at the Ottawa Street Farmers Market next weekend, Saturday April 11 (from 8-2 as usual).

On-Farm Customers: this upcoming week we will start the year with online orders for pick-up. Order on our website from Monday noon to Thursday evening, for weekend pickup on the farm.
