The weather has been so sunny, and even with cold nights (and a few cold days) everything on the farm is warming up and growing strong!
Last call for online seedling orders - plants will be taken off the online store on Monday May 2nd at 9am (I've extended the deadline since I don't plan to be on the computer on Sunday), so if you'd like to put together an order, you have just a little more time. Don't worry if you dan't have a chance to get an order in, though, as we will still have plenty of plants available at market and on the farm each weekend. This year, we're growing even more of our most popular varieties, including Super Sweet cherry tomatoes, Beefsteak tomatoes, Zucchini, Cucumbers, Basil and more.
Our on farm market will be open Sundays in May starting next weekend (May 8th) from 12-4pm. It's a great chance to come out and see the farm, whether you are local to Norfolk County or one of our Hamilton supporters. From June to October, we'll be open on Thursdays from 2-8pm for veggie sales. We are located at 9 Culver Lane in Simcoe.
This is also a last reminder to sign up for the CSA if you haven't yet this year and would like to be a member! We currently still have space for: 2 Large Boxes, 5 Medium Boxes and 8 Small Boxes. Signups will close May 29th, or whenever these spaces are filled!
Spring greens have been growing well in the field and especially in our unheated hoop house, where we planted in early April. Quantities are still limited on most items for the next couple of weeks, so get to market early if you don't want to miss out! We will have more volume and more variety as the weather continues to warm up.
Happy Spring Planting and Eating!
